Only 3% of the charities rated have received at least 5 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that NIFB outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates NIFB from its peers & demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.

Become a Hunger Advocate

There are many ways that you can join the fight against hunger in northern Illinois and beyond. One such way is to become an anti-hunger advocate. Whether your gift is writing, talking, fundraising, educating, or organizing, your gift can be used in the fight. You choose what works best for you, and do it!

What is advocacy?
Advocacy is the act of pleading or arguing in favor of something; Advocate - One who argues for a cause; a supporter; a defender; One who pleads on another's behalf. The American Heritage College Dictionary, Third Edition, 1997

You CAN make a difference in the lives of hungry people by taking a stand today!  Our elected officials need to know how important this issue is to each of you.  Northern Illinois Food Bank continuously advocates on behalf of our hungry neighbors by traveling to Springfield and Washington, D.C. to meet with our representatives, but YOU have a simpler option available.  Just click on the link below to contact your elected officials to urge their support on critical hunger issues or to thank them for their current support.  Get started today!
