Northern Illinois Food Bank operates on a membership basis; however, there is no membership fee to become part of the agency network. Any non-profit organization located within our 13 county service area interested in becoming a member of Northern Illinois Food Bank needs to:

• Provide food at no charge to those in need

• Complete a membership application

• Provide verification of charitable, non-profit status (usually by providing documentation of 501(c)(3) status)

• Pass an initial site inspection (annual thereafter)

• Follow guidelines outlined in the NIFB Agency Policy and Procedures manual

• Attend an orientation session
